Marriage in the family.
We returned from the USA where we were visiting Kelly’s family in Michigan. Her sister got married on July 17. We had a wonderful visit and, of course, everyone was so glad to have the time with Lucas. We are back to the Amazon and in the heat! I’m back full-time in the Lord’s work at the Church’s Social Assistance Clinic. We are both busy preparing for the arrival of Isabella Rose Lee! (Due September 25)
Welcome Zion Fellowship!
We received this month a team from Kelly’s home church, Zion Fellowship, from Canandaigua, NY. On the team we had a Dentist and his Nurse Practitioner wife, Dr. Ben and Sharon Gullo, from Canandaigua’s First United Methodist Church. We also had one of Kelly’s pastors, Joan Wood, who is dental hygienist. With the three professionals we held health and dental clinics, while the rest of the team assisted in the dental clinic (Barb and Dorothy) or worked on church construction (Lynn, Kelly Rogers and Kris).
We left on Monday morning for the community of Uricurituba and we were there until Friday night. The following week the team spent Monday and Tuesday at the church’s camp in Alter-do-Chão, working with Joaquim and I in painting the auditorium’s concession stand, before returning to the USA on Wednesday. I received my Ministry License and Missionary Status with Elim Fellowship. EF is a fellowship of ministers and ministries that also send missionaries out to all parts of the world. Now Kelly and I are both in partnership with EF.
